How we charge.
No surprises. You know what your matter will cost — in writing — before any work begins.
KSA Law agrees fees in writing before any work begins. Where the scope is predictable, such as many wills, powers of attorney, contract reviews and conveyancing, we offer a fixed fee. For less predictable work, we give a written estimate with a cap. Third-party costs such as searches, filing fees and duty are listed separately as disbursements.

Three ways we price work.
| Structure | When we use it | What you get in writing |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed fee | The scope is predictable — e.g. many wills and EPAs, contract reviews, residential conveyancing, standard agreements | One price for the defined scope |
| Estimate with a cap | The work depends on other parties — negotiations, estate administration, business sales | A range and a ceiling we won't exceed without your approval |
| Retainer | Businesses wanting ongoing commercial advice | An agreed monthly scope and fee |
Third-party costs, listed separately.
Some costs are paid to third parties on your behalf — for example title and council searches, court and registry filing fees, and transfer duty on a property purchase. These are shown separately in your costs agreement so you can see exactly what is our fee and what is not.
About fees.
Is the first conversation free?+
The first conversation is confidential and without obligation. We'll tell you whether we can help and, if so, what the next step would cost before anything is charged.
Will my fee change?+
A fixed fee only changes if the scope changes — and we'll tell you in writing before doing any additional work. A capped estimate won't be exceeded without your approval.
Do you offer fixed fees for wills and conveyancing?+
Yes, fixed fees are available for most standard matters where the scope can be defined upfront. We'll confirm the fee after a short conversation about your circumstances.
Ready to discuss your matter?
A short, confidential conversation is the best place to start. We will tell you whether we can help, and if not, point you in the right direction.
