How we write and review our guides.
Our guides are written to be accurate, clear and useful — and to tell you when you need advice on your own situation.
Every guide on the KSA Law website is written in plain English, based on primary sources such as Queensland and Commonwealth legislation and court and regulator guidance, and reviewed by an admitted solicitor before it is published. Guides show the date they were last updated and are checked at least annually or when the law changes.

Five rules we follow.
Primary sources first
We rely on legislation, court rules and regulator guidance, and link to them in each guide.
Solicitor review
Each guide is reviewed by an admitted solicitor. Each guide names its reviewing solicitor and the date it was last updated.
Clear dates
Every guide shows when it was last updated.
Regular checks
Guides are checked at least once a year, and sooner when the law changes.
Honest limits
Guides are general information, not legal advice, and say when your circumstances need individual advice.
How drafts are prepared.
Drafts may be prepared with the assistance of research and writing tools. No guide is published until a solicitor has checked it against the current law.
Report an error.
Email admin@ksalaw.com.au with the page address and the issue. We review every report and update the guide, and its date, where a change is needed.
Ready to discuss your matter?
A short, confidential conversation is the best place to start. We will tell you whether we can help, and if not, point you in the right direction.
